About Hand Stitch Laboratory

PUNTARIUM — Hand Stitch Laboratory is an independent, non-commercial digital atelier created to make manual sewing mechanics understandable, measurable, and accessible worldwide.

Our Mission: Visible Seam Mechanics

Most sewing resources either show fast-paced video clips where fingers obscure the needle eye, or static 2D vector diagrams that fail to explain what happens underneath the cloth. Our project models the continuous trajectory of thread as it pierces both fabric faces.

Physical Practice vs Digital Simulation

We emphasize that completing a digital sequence on screen does not replace the tactile muscle memory of feeling grain tension, working with beeswax, or developing thimble calluses. Instead, our simulations serve as a mental blueprint before picking up a real steel needle.

Open Standards & Pure Web Architecture

Built with clean static Astro, lightweight vector mathematics, and strict privacy principles. We require no user accounts, store no personal profiling data, and execute all interactive drills locally in your browser.
